15-year-old IN girl charged IN mother's stabbing death

The 15-year-old girl who was the focus of a statewide Amber Alert and considered to be in "extreme danger" on Monday has now been charged with the murder of her mother.

Reeves was located in Gary on Tuesday afternoon.

On Thursday, the Lake County prosecutor said he wants to try Reeves as an adult for the murder of her mother, 34-year-old Jamie Garnett, but that there is a process to that. The state of IN approved the Gary Police Department's request for an Amber Alert when Chastinea Reeves of Gary could not be found Monday afternoon.

He also confirmed that soldiers had in the night spotted some persons on motorcycle and opened fire in their direction. Six suspected Boko Haram members were killed whiles the other side also reported some casualties.
