Kirk Cousins' preferred destination is 49ers, according to source

Former Redskins offensive coordinator Kyle Shanahan is the new head coach of the 49ers. If Washington goes that route, however, it won't have many options.

ESPN's John Keim is reporting that the quarterback would only willingly sign a free-agent extension beyond 2017 with San Francisco.

Washington can apply its tag to Cousins and still work out a long-term deal, or not. Cousins has developed into a pretty good starting quarterback in the National Football League, and would obviously be a huge part of the rebuild going on in San Francisco.

Go-Ahead profits hit by Southern strikes
Go-Ahead Group has warned it could take £15m hit to its full-year profits because of the ongoing woes on strike-hit Southern Rail. Regional bus operating profits papered over some of the cracks in the first half, posting a 6% rise to come in at £25.7mln.

The Redskins have a franchise quarterback in Kirk Cousins, but apparently don't want to pay him like one.

Cousins, 28, passed for 4,917 yards, 25 touchdowns and 12 interceptions for Washington (8-7-1) in 2016, and he played in the Pro Bowl for the first time.

Washington faced the same situation a year ago, and put the franchise tag on him, paying him $19.9 million for one season.

Subway chicken strips contain less than 50 percent chicken DNA, study says
Because Subway's score was so different, the researchers tested five new samples of both the oven roasted chicken and the strips. The study showed its oven roasted chicken at the restaurant was only about 50 percent chicken.

If the 49ers have mutual interest in Cousins, the two parties could definitely find a way to make this happen, but the Redskins would have to be willing to take on a almost $24 million cap hit just to be able to potentially keep Cousins around to negotiate or work out a trade with another team. They have the resources to need to pry Cousins from Washington.

Does that point to a Shanahan-Cousins reunion next offseason?

Cousins' current stance could limit the market for Washington, but it's not impossible that Cousins would eventually agree to be traded to a team other than the 49ers. Reuniting with a coach (Kyle Shanahan) who loves you in an offense you love?

Reward nearing $100K in Delphi double murder case
The reward has just gone up for any information in the murders of the two teenagers in Delphi, Indiana. The girls were reported missing the day before by family after they didn't return from a hike.

The Redskins can negotiate with Cousins on a long-term deal until July 15. "That's a win-win for Cousins..."
