Man found dead with zip-ties around neck inside jewelry store


A 43-year-old man was discovered dead in the bathroom of a closed jewelry store in Tribeca, and the death is suspicious.

Omid Gholian, 43, emigrated from Iran to the United States looking for a better life for his family.

The grisly discovery was made around 6 p.m. Wednesday at the family-owned World of Gold N Diamond, on the corner of Church and Duane streets, police said.

EMTs were summoned and pronounced the man dead at the scene.

When the brother went to the store Wednesday to look for Gholian, the gate was locked.
