Yorgos Lanthimos (The Lobster) is set to direct.

Vietnam veteran North, the then-deputy-director of political-military affairs for the US National Security Council, was implicated in the scandal and was dismissed by President Ronald Reagan.

Details on the series are sealed but Lanthimos says it will be "quite different" from their previous collaboration and that Amazon "embraced the project with great enthusiasm". But the subject matter - Oliver North and the 1980s Iran-Contra affair - is a little more surprising.

But an appeals court over the weekend rejected the tribes' emergency request to halt work on the project, The Hill reported. Authorities also are slowly shuttering a law enforcement staging area that was set up last summer in the protest camp area.

A little history lesson: In 1985, North facilitated the secret sale of arms to Iran during a time when an arms embargo for Iran was in place, in hopes of getting hostages released by Hezbollah, who held them in Lebanon.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, the project is in development and is headed to Amazon. "Brilliant projects like this stand out by virtue of having all of those elements", said Amazon Studios' head of comedy, drama, and VR Joe Lewis.

The production is still in very early stages, with the script still being written by Enzo Mileti and Scott Wilson; Ben Stiller and Nicky Weinstock are on-board as executive producers.

The latest report shows, however, that people in Germany are steadily rating themselves as happier compared to previous years. Eight out of 10 of the bottom-ranked countries are African, with the other two being war-torn Syria and Yemen.

At a high level the untitled series which is being developed for Amazon, will explore the scandalous facilitation of arms sales to Iran by USA officials, despite the current arms embargo on the Iranians. "We're excited to be making stories with Yorgos, Colin, Ben, and Nicky from Enzo and Scott's incredible scripts". Colin Farrell has Sofia Coppola's The Beguiled out this summer, and a few other projects to knock out before taking on Oliver North.

Oliver North is now a host of the Fox News show War Stories with Oliver North.
