Iowa State University President Steven Leath is reportedly on Auburn University's "short list" as its next president, the Opelika-Auburn News reports.
Alabama newspaper The Opelika-Auburn News, says Leath is likely a top candidate for the new Auburn University president.
Before becoming Iowa State president in 2012, Leath received a bachelor's degree in plant science from Pennsylvania State University, a master's in plant science from the University of DE and a Ph.D in plant pathology from the University of IL, according his official biography from Iowa State.

According to a press release on its website regarding the presidential search, "the University is seeking a visionary leader who has impeccable integrity, exemplary interpersonal and communication skills and a passion for educating students and preparing them for successful and productive lives". Iowa State - originally called the Iowa Agricultural College and Model Farm - is the nation's first land-grant college. The search for the new leader at Auburn is now underway, according to Auburn's website.
