The latest distribution data from Google Play shows a significant increase, with Google having updated the distribution data on Google Play for the seven days period that ended with March 6 2017. However, it seems that Android N is fast catching up with its predecessors as the latest report states that Google OS' adoption has grown from 1.2 percent to 2.8 percent.

Android Nougat is now on 2.8% of devices according to the most recent Android Distribution numbers, which Google has just released over on the Android Developers web site.

Harvard dropout Mark Zuckerberg to speak at May graduation
The Microsoft co-founder delivered the commencement speech in 2007 when Zuckerberg's wife, Priscilla Chan, graduated from Harvard. The university released a short video featuring the pair in which Zuckerberg asks Gates for advice on what to say in his address.

The figures or percentages that are mentioned above are gathered based on the Android devices that visit the Google Play application. That is followed by the 31.3% of Android devices with Marshmallow 6.0 running the show.

Here's a full look at this month's distribution numbers. If Android Marshmallow keeps going at this rate, it is very much likely that it will soon become the most widely-used Google OS, overtaking Android Lollipop. The Android Lollipop version 5.0 runs on 9.4% of Android devices, whereas the Android Lollipop version 5.1 runs on around 23.1% of the Android devices that checked into the Google Play app. This month saw a surge of 1.6%, with 2.8% of all Android users running either Nougat 7.0 or 7.1. Android Lollipop's combined share went down slightly from 32.9 percent in February, to 32.5 percent in March.

Android 7.0 is now on about 2.4 percent devices and Android 7.1 has a 0.4 percent share.

It is believed that the growth took place due to the fact that many new phones were launched with Android Nougat on board at the Mobile World Congress (MWC) 2017; and also quite a few of the older smartphones have already started receiving the update. That includes the popular Samsung Galaxy S7 and S7 Edge, along with the Honor 6x (in beta) the Moto G4 and G4 Plus and more. Other than this, Kitkat is now installed on 20.8 percent of devices, down 1.1 percent, while Jelly Bean now holds a market share of 10.6 per cent.
