Jenkins signed a one-year deal with the Silver and Black, and is expected to fill the void at weak-side linebacker after Malcolm Smith signed with the San Francisco 49ers in free agency. He was signed to the practice squad in 2006 and has played all but three games since the start of the 2007 season.

Maybe signing with one of the team's farthest away from Buffalo was always in EJ Manuel's plan, but that's what he did after signing on with the Oakland on Monday to compete for a backup position behind Derek Carr. The acquisition of Manuel likely means the end of quarterback Matt McGloin whose contract expired at the end of the 2016 season. The 6-foot-5, 237-pound Manuel saw his most extensive action during his rookie campaign, making 10 starts and throwing for 1,972 yards with 11 touchdowns and nine interceptions.

In an interview with the Toronto Sun, Manuel said he wasn't given a chance to go through what he called "growing pains" as he discussed his time in Buffalo. I want the team to get better. "I'll never forget my time in Buffalo, but I am looking forward and excited to my future here in Oakland", he added.
