Trump jokes both he and Angela Merkel were wiretapped by Obama

The two leaders tried to express their common bonds but showed minimal rapport in their first encounter, a departure from Merkel's warm relations with Obama during his eight years as president.

During the morning, both leaders chaired a roundtable discussion on vocational training and the future of jobs in the fourth industrial revolution era. In his statement at the start, Trump praised Germany's apprenticeship program that trains people to join the industrial workforce.
