AIADMK's ruling faction ousts Sasikala, Dinakaran and family

Chennai: AIADMK's Deputy General Secretary T.T.V. Dinakaran on Wednesday said the state ministers have chose to keep him out of the party due to some fear.

For his part, Dinakaran has denied knowing Chandrasekhar, let alone asking him to broker such a contract with the EC, though the chances of his arrest by the Delhi Police seem imminent.

While Sengottaiyan's individual stand still remains a mystery, MLAs like Vetrivel said the party can not oust TTV Dinakaran and Sasikala.

Panneerselvam said he had launched the "dharma yuddh" with the help of his supporters, including MPs and MLAs, in an effort to ensure that the AIADMK did not go into hands of Sasikala's family.

Meanwhile, the O Panneerselvam camp took to Twitter to express its willingness to hold talks with the AIADMK (Amma) faction.

Jayakumar said all 123 AIADMK lawmakers and party cadres were on the same page and discussed about the possibilities of retaining the "two leaves" symbol, which had been frozen by the Election Commission.

Thambi Durai's meeting with governor C Vidyasagar Rao at Raj Bhavan also set tongue wagging but the he described it as a courtesy call. All 128 AIADMK MLAs are staying united and favour a merger.

Since Tamil Nadu Chief Minister J Jayalalitha passed away late past year, the fate of the party she headed has been in a shambles.

He also said that post merger of the two factions, many MLAs would want Panneerselvam to be the Chief Minister while the party cadres would demand that he also be the AIADMK General Secretary.

Amid reports that the talks had hit a roadblock with leaders of the two factions insisting on the Chief Minister's post, the former minister said that they never asked for the post of the CM or party general secretary. So, we will not rest until the Sasikala family is thrown out of the AIADMK.
