Apple may start testing self-driving cars in California indicates permit

Apple became the 30th company granted the permission on Friday after the DMV updated its list of manufacturers testing self-driving cars.

After a five-page letter last November from Steve Kenner, Apple's director of product integrity, to NHTSA, the company was under increased speculation that they would enter into the competitive self-driving space. As per a report published by Bloomberg, a source in Apple informed that the company would soon start testing its technology on public roads in California.

With its permit, Apple is leaping into an increasingly competitive race to build the world's first mainstream self-driving auto.

Our models project Paul for 18.9 points, 4.9 rebounds and 8.9 assists over 32.1 minutes against the Jazz in Game 2. This may have been tough on head coach Doc Rivers who blasted a reporter during the post-game press conference.

A Lexus spokesman told The Post he had no "specific information" on why Apple chose its model, but added that its hybrid crossover SUVs "are a popular choice among companies looking to test future technologies".

"Apple is investing heavily in machine learning and autonomous systems", the company said then. In early 2016, CEO Tim Cook fielded a question at the company's annual shareholder meeting about developing a auto, to which he provided a cryptic response that neither confirmed nor denied the project. The list includes VW, Mercedes, Google, Bosch, Tesla, BMW, GM, Ford, Baidu, Honda, Subaru and Faraday.

The California-based tech giant is expected to focus on software systems, letting partners manufacture vehicles, but would understandably want to be able to test its navigation technology in cars. Now out of nowhere there is proof that Apple is working on self-driving cars. At last, the company's secretive efforts was crowned by the success.

Self-driving technology has the potential to reshape how people work, play and commute; proponents say automating vehicles will help reduce congestion and prevent crashes caused by human error, which according to federal statistics account for 95 percent of all accidents.

Companies that wish to test vehicles must provide evidence that they can train qualified employee drivers, can insure their cars and will be liable for any damage incurred during tests.
