City of Odessa Easter egg hunt brings close to 3000 participants

50 volunteers from Set Free Ministries and other churches helped make the event possible. In addition to assorted sweets and chocolates, the hunt featured a number of special eggs that were redeemed for larger prizes.

"I like that I get to see my sister enjoy it and I like getting candy and the eggs and stuff, "says Attendee Damien Woods". They brought three children to hunt for eggs, not to practise their faith but to enjoy family time.

Organizers of the event say they hope to continue the Easter egg hunt for years to come.

At about 10:45 a.m., the crowd gathered around the field where hundreds of Easter eggs were still protected from the reach of children.
