Conte: Tottenham Have An Advantage In Race For The Title

Chelsea manager Antonio Conte took a sly swipe at Tottenham Hotspur ahead of Saturday's FA Cup semi-final saying that the moment has arrived when the north London club must decades of underachievement.

Spurs twice pegged back the Premier League leaders thanks to goals from Harry Kane and Dele Alli and were in the ascendancy until Eden Hazard came off the bench to land a decisive blow 15 minutes from time.

What an appointment Antonio Conte has proved to be. Tottenham boss Mauricio Pochettino: "I feel proud because we played very well".

"I believe it is an exciting team, to fight in that moment and at that level against Chelsea, one of the biggest sides from England, is fantastic, it's a big thing for us".

"Sometimes it's very hard to understand the fixtures, but we have to answer on the pitch".

Reflecting on the loss, Pochettino said: "We played well but they were clinical and when you are clinical in football it's so hard to win, and they were more clinical than us. We must exploit the momentum".

"We played much better than them today, but it's true they were clinical".

"We know we will have to play better than last weekend and I think we will".

Cahill said that Chelsea had to keep calm and put in the work to get results in their remaining fixtures.

"The system is very good because we have the players to fit in their positions. For sure it's not easy to decide to start without two really important players".

Conte is seeking a FA Cup and Premier League double in his first season, but insisted his Chelsea team are - unlike fellow Italian Carlo Ancelotti's side in 2009/10 - not the finished product.

"I can't change the past".

He will have his work cut-out tomorrow, however, when he will come face to face with one of the Premier League's most risky forwards.

In his second season at White Hart Lane, Eriksen helped Spurs negotiate a path to the last four of the League Cup, where they met Sheffield United. Monaco will have their work cut out to hold on to their tight lead at the top of France's Ligue 1 against a Lyon side that has had a very impressive season and now resides in fourth place.

"It's hard to explain".

"But I understand football totally and sometimes you play well and don't win". We gave all that we had. I think this week is crucial for us.

"If we play the way we played today then we can not be anxious". Only recently have Spurs closed the gap to just four tantalizing points. We respect the way that we play, our philosophy. "C'mon, lets try to win the next game".
