Death toll rises to 140 after Taliban attack in Afghanistan

According to him, Taliban fighters dressed in military uniforms raided an army base in northern Afghanistan, raking it with gunfire in an hours-long attack that killed or injured more than 100 soldiers, said a report citing senior officials.

"We have learned with sorrow that a terror attack has taken place at the 209 corps headquarters of the Afghan National Army in Mazar-e Sharif city of Afghanistan", the ministry said in a statement.
