Delta could offer passengers close to $10000 to give up their seats

Smartphone video of Dao, a doctor, resulted in a PR disaster for United after he refused to give up his seat on the plane at O'Hare worldwide airport in Chicago. United was trying to make room for four employees of a partner airline, meaning four people had to get off.

David Dao was physically dragged off the United Airlines flight. The request also includes the personnel files of the Aviation Department officers that pulled Dao from the plane. An April 5 storm in Atlanta shut down Delta's operations during heavy spring break travel, with delays made worse by a breakdown in the airline's crew location and assignment systems, Chief Executive Officer Ed Bastian said in an email to customers.

The bloody incident has caused outrage and a boycott against United Airlines.

Linda said United reached out to her husband Wednesday to apologise and to offer compensation for the incident. It needs to look at its business and realize that passengers are its lifeblood, and because of that they need to be treated with the utmost respect and compassion and to make sure that unnecessary events like this never happen again.

French judges ask EU to lift Le Pen's immunity
The request for waiving Le Pen's parliamentary immunity was filed in the European Parliament in late March. The two first round leaders will go through to a decisive run-off on 7 May.

It was initially believed that Dr Dao was bumped off the flight due to overbooking by the airline.

Airlines are reviewing their policies to increase compensation to those who voluntarily agree to leave overbooked flights, in the wake of the violent removal of a United Airlines passenger this week. The company reiterated its plan Friday after the contents of the Delta memo were reported.

One of Dao's children, Crystal Pepper, said the family was "horrified, shocked and sickened" by what happened.

One passenger didn't think being bumped was worth it.

Elena Kagan Warns Gorsuch: Supreme Court Newbie Has Chores To Do
Start by making him take notes and answer the door at the justices' private meetings. This gives newly minted Justice Neil Gorsuch a chance to make his mark.

Last year Delta got more passengers to give up their seats than any other US airline, partly by paying more than most of the others.

United said the updated policy is one of its initial steps in a review of its policies to "deliver the best customer experience".

He reportedly lost two front teeth and suffered a broken nose and a "significant" concussion in the incident.

Passenger rights advocate Gabor Lukacs said the warning from Garneau is meaningless because there is nothing the government can do if the airlines don't comply. His attorney said Thursday that he would likely sue United. The scorpion stung him under the fingernail, Bell said to CBS News through a Skype interview.

North Korea missile launch ended in failure, says Pentagon
Reuters reported one United States official as saying the failed missile was not an intercontinental ballistic missile (ICBM). Pence is scheduled to meet with South Korean Prime Minister Hwang Kyo-ahn, who is serving as acting president, on Monday.

Sadly, it appears, airline travel is the only form of travel in which you can buy a ticket, board on time, and still get "bumped".
