The Merseyside outfit unveiled the new strip for the 2017-18 season, commemorating the club's 125th anniversary.

Returning to a darker "Shankly red", the shirt incorporates tonal pinstripes which acknowledge the Liverpool teams of the early 1980s.

There is also a commemorative "96" close to the collar, in recognition of the 96 fans who were killed in the Hillsborough disaster of 1989.

But the Reds have dropped a hint that they plan on keeping Sturridge at the club after he was chosen to unveil Liverpool's new kit alongside Roberto Firmino, Adam Lallana and Philippe Coutinho.
