McDonald's Order Trips Up Cleveland Facebook Slaying Suspect

Stephens had been on the run for almost 48 hours after posting grisly video on Facebook of himself shooting and killing 74-year-old Robert Godwin, 695 East 93rd Street in Cleveland.

"Each one of us forgives the killer. We want to wrap our arms around him", Tonya Godwin-Baines told CNN's Anderson Cooper on Tuesday after Stephens' death. "A traffic stop was attempted and, after a brief pursuit, Stephens shot and killed himself", the Pennsylvania State Police said on Twitter.

The mother previously said Stephens stopped by her house on Saturday with a cryptic message.

"I've got a lot of negative comments", Lane added.

The manhunt for the suspect accused of killing a person and airing it on Facebook Live is over, thanks in part to a McDonald's drive thru team in Harborcreek, Pennsylvania. When the employee recognized his face, she called authorities right away and tried to stall him.

State police caught up to Stephens quickly and gave chase.

Following a nationwide manhunt, authorities were notified that Stephens' auto had been seen in a McDonald's parking lot near Erie, Pennsylvania on Tuesday morning. "We would prefer that it had not ended this way because there are a lot of questions, I'm sure, that not only the family, but the city in general would have had for Steve".

"All I can say is that I wish he had gone down in a hail of 100 bullets", Haymon said. "I wish it had gone down like that instead of him shooting himself".
