Petition started to name April's calf after 'Giraffe Mom's' baby boy

April the Giraffe finally met her friendly competitor "Giraffe Mom" Erin Dietrich, the pregnant mom whose spoof of April went viral last month. The Facebook post of Dietrich wearing a giraffe mask in her hospital room attracted more than 3.9 million views.

Dietrich gave birth to a boy on March 8, and April was apparently recovered enough from the birth that she was able to meet "Giraffe Mom" up close and personal. on Tuesday.

April gave birth Saturday at the Animal Adventure Park in Harpursville, outside of Binghamton.
