Coming closer to embracing regime change in Syria, the U.S. ambassador to the United Nations said that with President Bashar al-Assad in power, Syria will not know peace, CNN reported Sunday.

Russian President Vladimir Putin and Iran's Hassan Rouhani said in a phone call that aggressive United States actions against Syria were not permissible and violated worldwide law, the Kremlin said on Sunday.
