To recall, Samsung launched both the flagship phones at an Unpacked event in NY on March 29 and started taking preorders in some countries such as South Korea. Samsung has been launching Active models of its flagships for years now and generally these versions have shared some common elements, but now there are more major changes between the older Galaxy S7 and the new Galaxy S8 to make us wonder about the design.

According to the new reports which we have, the company is working on a new smartphone which goes by the model number SM-G892A. However, the report offered a more muted forecast for Galaxy S8 sales.

Samsung is working on a new Galaxy S8 Active model now codenamed Cruiser, Samsung-tracking site SamMobile is reporting, citing sources who claim to have knowledge of the company's plans. Along with the basic phone features, Galaxy S8 has another additional mind-blowing feature that made it infinitely incredible. Samsung Galaxy S8 is in fact the company's second smartphone to feature an iris scanner. Not many details are available at this point, but Samsung is reportedly referring to this smartphone internally as the "Cruiser". The Note 7 debacle a year ago certainly was a bad situation to be in, making the tech giant skip the Mobile World Congress and delay the Galaxy S8 launch.

The connectivity options are 4G LTE, WiFi 802.11 ac, Bluetooth of v5.0, GPS, NFC and USB of Type-C. The S8 gets by with a 3,000 mAh battery while the larger sibling gets a 3,500 mAh battery.

Active variants of Samsung's Galaxy S handset always feature larger batteries. Also, Samsung will release the Exynos 8895 variant of the phones in India, which is underwhelming. We should have seen that on the Galaxy S 8 series, but what we got instead was a software-enhanced Galaxy S7 Edge camera. The G6 also takes one step ahead with its 13-megapixel camera, while the Galaxy S8 retained its 12-megapixel as per Pocket Lint.
