Zach Werenski's Face Is Really Fucked Up

NOTES: Blue Jackets D Zach Werenski is out for the remainder of the playoffs after sustaining facial fractures during Game 3 on Sunday night.

Jake Guentzel had a hat trick, including a goal at 13:10 of overtime, to lift the Pittsburgh Penguins to a 5-4 victory over the Columbus Blue Jackets on Sunday night in Columbus, Ohio, and give them a 3-0 lead in their first-round playoff series.

The 19-year-old returned to the game in the third period with a full shield, but couldn't make it to overtime because his eye had swelled completely shut.

Werenski, who finished with 47 points during the regular season, tweeted a photo of his damaged face after the game along with a simple message: "Playoff hockey". Game 4 is Tuesday night. Fellow forward Evgeni Malkin recorded his 14th career three-point performance by scoring in his second straight game and adding two assists to increase his point total to six (two goals, four assists) in the series.

Columbus blew a 3-1 lead - the popular phrase these days - but they tied the game on Brandon Dubinsky's goal at 15:11 to set up overtime.

Where in the world is the USS Carl Vinson?
The strike group, including the 97,000-ton carrier and its 60-plus aircraft, the guided-missile destroyers USS Wayne E. Reports of the Carl Vinson's deployment drew condemnation from North Korea, which slammed the move as "reckless".

COLUMBUS, OHIO-Through the first two games of their opening-round series with the Columbus Blue Jackets, the Penguins had to weather a few first-period storms caused by sluggish starts. The Blue Jackets, backs against the wall, in front of a rabid crowd, delivered their best effort of the series.

Nonetheless, in his first three playoff games, he has two game-winning goals.

But the Penguins regained their composure and pushed back hard during the second period to tie the score at 3-3.

Werenski immediately hit the ice, grabbing his face, writhing in pain as play continued.

It has been quiet, far too quiet in the Columbus Blue Jackets' dressing room lately.

North Korea show of strength as USA tensions rise
Navy fired 59 Tomahawk missiles at a Syrian airfield last week in response to a deadly gas attack, raising questions about U.S. Analysts say commercial satellite images from recent weeks indicate increased activity around North Korea's nuclear test site.

"Some of the goals didn't go our way early on but we responded the right way", Sullivan said.

Guentzel scored Pittsburgh's first goal in the opening period and got another in the third period before beating Bobrovsky for the victor in OT. Pittsburgh got the late goal but ran out of time.

Fleury, who alertly began moving to his left after making the pad save and giving up the rebound, arrived in time for the puck to ricochet off his helmeted forehead. It just seems like, despite knowing better, Columbus can't resist the urge to hulk up and play tough-guy hockey. With one game left for a first-round sweep, all the Pens need to do now is just finish the job.

In three playoff games, Guentzel now has 4 goals and an assist to boot.

They were able to generate offense in Game 3 but lost their legs in the third period.

Facebook pushes augmented reality through smartphones
The social network's first virtual reality offering allows you to hang out with friends in the form of a digital avatar. Apple will likely use the iPhone as its augmented reality platform , just as Facebook just announced it's doing.

Just 18 seconds from trailing 2-0 in this series, the Canadiens have seized the momentum and they expect the Rangers to come out with more intensity in Game 4.
