One man, 53-year-old Bo Mikles, was killed while apparently fleeing his home in his truck, which was thrown several hundred feet, said Danny Ringer, the Elk City Fire Department chaplain.

At least 100 structures were damaged and more than 50 homes were destroyed in Elk City when an EF-2, possibly EF-3, tornado blew across the city.

NORMAN, Okla. (AP) - Officials say a tornado has touched down in a rural area of southwestern Oklahoma with no injuries or damage reported.

"A tornado passed in five States Tuesday night, including in Kansas, Nebraska, Oklahoma, Texas, and Wisconsin".

By Tuesday evening, there were nearly 20 reports of tornadoes, according to the National Weather Service. There were also many reports of large hail and strong winds.

ABC News reported that, according to Barron County Sheriff Chris Fitzgerald, who spoke to several media sources, the tornado that resulted in one fatality and over two dozen other people getting injured touch down north of the small town of Chetek, Wisconsin, striking the Prairie Lakes Estates trailer park.

Theresa May said the attack was not targeted at the NHS, it was part of an global incident. She said it was an worldwide attack with a number of countries and organisations affected.

Clean up is underway but the Sheriff Fitzgerald says "The mobile home park is on private property, so it's ultimately left to the residents to pick up".

Fitzgerald said 17 people were taken to area hospitals with about 5-10 more people having minor injuries and refusing treatment.

"A few trailers on the perimeter are still standing, but everything in the middle is completely gone", Chetek police officer Cody Stauner told the Leader-Telegram.

At least one baby was injured, he said.

A mobile home is a particularly risky place to be during a tornado, according to the National Weather Service. The circulation and high winds in a tornado can easily rip or even toss a mobile home, which frequently would not have a foundation. Cattle are killed, but there is no report of people being injured.

The twister struck at the trailer park along US 53 in the Barron County town of Prairie Lake, about midway between Chetek and Cameron.

The storm struck a subdivision Tuesday just south of Elk City, Okla., about 110 miles west of Oklahoma City.

The length of its path is still being determined, but there is a miles-long trail of destruction through Barron County and into neighboring Rusk County, Fitzgerald said.

Helicopter video from WCCO-TV and KARE-TV shows extensive damage at the trailer park, with several homes reduced to rubble. "And it's just awesome to see it".

Multiple people were trapped inside homes after the tornado, KOCO.com reported. He estimates the park had around 50 homes.

Two hours later than in Wisconsin, the storm hit Oklahoma at 7.15pm on Tuesday.

The National Weather Service says the storm started Tuesday night in the panhandle of Oklahoma and tracked into Kansas.
