Baywatch review round-up: Priyanka Chopra under used, Dwayne Johnson only saving grace

Sure, the film has some laughs, but not as many as you would expect from a film like this, especially a film that goes for so many laughs but only pulls a few off. Together, they uncover a local criminal plot in the hands of Victoria Leeds (Priyanka Chopra) that threatens the future of the Bay.

In her absence at Cannes, Chopra's mother and brother unveiled the poster of her third production venture - a Sikkimese film named Pahuna, produced by Purple Pebble Pictures owned by her.

Even before her title, Chopra was expanding her horizons. So there's this one scene in the film, it's the funniest thing.

"The showdown is the best moment in the film, one which cleverly plays on gender-specific action movie tropes while showing its female villain no gender-based charity", wrote critic Scott Mendelson. Directed by "Horrible Bosses" Seth Gordon, "Baywatch" isn't the most flagrant offender in our current TV-to-movie scourge, but it's not good.

Efron himself joked on Twitter that there would be a "Baywatch 2" "right before 3".
