First female White House chief usher 'no longer employed,' official says

White House deputy press secretary Sarah Sanders said Friday that Reid left on good terms.

The Trump administration has fired the White House chief usher, who is responsible for the management of the building and its staff. The Jamaican-born Reid had been the general manager of the Ritz-Carlton at Pentagon City in Virginia before coming to the White House.

The Washington Post, which first reported the story, said that the White House fired Reid. Ms Reid was only the ninth since the start of the 20th Century, and leaves after six years.

Some White House insiders claiming to have inside knowledge of the environment surrounding the chief usher and the staff claim tensions have emerged among the residence workers supervised by Angella Reid.
