GOP lawmaker raises option of impeaching Trump over Comey

Just last week, Grassley welcomed Trump's firing of Comey, and told critics to 'Suck it up and move on, ' in an appearance on Fox News.

Comey wrote that Trump asked him to drop a probe of former national security adviser Michael Flynn, a day after the president dismissed Flynn.

Chairman Richard Burr, a North Carolina Republican, and Vice Chairman Mark Warner, a Democrat from Virginia, said they have asked Comey to testify before the panel in both open and closed sessions.

As for Comey, whom Trump fired last week, the FBI director wrote in a memo after a February meeting at the White House that the new president had asked him to shut down the FBI's investigation of Flynn and his Russian contacts, said a person who had read the memo.
