Langer has now won multiple senior majors in the same year four times.

That's because Player believes all Langer did with his one-stroke win at the Senior PGA championship was pull into a tie with him at nine majors victories in senior golf.

Langer started the day one behind Singh, who set the pace after 54 holes on 15 under par.

Bernhard Langer, of Germany, chips up to the ninth green during the final round of the Senior PGA Championship at the Trump National golf club in Sterling, Va., Sunday, May 28, 2017.

Unlike the main tours, where the majors straddle the mid-year months, majors on the PGA Tour Champions come in bursts, the Tradition immediately followed by the PGA Seniors Championship this week at the Trump National Golf Club in Potomic Falls, Virginia.

In fact, for someone who has been so utterly dominant on the Champions Tour these past nine years, Langer's spotty record in the Senior PGA Championship is surprisingly unexceptional, his best and only runner-up finish in his first start, in 2008, when he was single-stroke pipped for the title by Jay Haas. Trump, coming off a nine-day trip overseas, did not attend the final round. Bernhard Langer was in second at 14-under and Billy Andrade third at 12-under.

Singh and Langer are friendly but not close, and both are known for being quiet and businesslike on the golf course.

Langer also won the season-opening event in Hawaii and has 32 career senior victories.

Langer's lead held up as afternoon thunderstorms halted play for the day with half of the 156-man field still on the course. Singh was at 10-under 134 through two rounds.

"I missed a lot of putts out there", said Singh.

"We play to win, especially majors". Langer has now won all five. The last two weeks were pretty special.

Spieth shot a bogey-free 65, and was standing on a chair to see over the crowd at the 18th green when Kisner putted up the mound to 5 feet of the cup, then made the winning putt.

After three quarters: Cavaliers 109, Celtics 74
The two rivals have split the previous two encounters. "There seems to be a theme when I'm out, I think the team is like 108-2". James drove to the basket uncontested with 6:38 left in the third to put the Cavaliers up, 90-65, sending fans to the exits.

Langer made a good two-putt from 85 feet at the 10th, and Singh kept his share of the lead with a 7-foot par putt at No. 11.

"I remember Arnold Palmer, using his word, telling me it was 'bull-' that the Senior Open Championship wasn't a major".

Conversely, Langer's putting game shined as he made crucial birdie putts on the ninth, 13th and 16th holes to keep the pressure on Singh in their mano-a-mano duel.

He finished his round by hitting a 2-hybrid from 216 yards to 3 feet for eagle on the par-5 18th. His approach landed just short of the front of the green, and he elected to putt from there, with the ball stopping 15 feet from the hole.

“The only advantage I may have is maybe some of the par-5s where Im going to be hitting a long iron or getting on to it, and [Langer] has to go with a wood or lay up, ” Singh said.
