Details surrounding the slaying of 6-year-old Kingston Frazier are starting to crystalize after false statements from the Hinds County sheriff sparked rampant rumors and accusations of involvement by the child's family.

The boy's shirtless father at one point began wailing at police before relatives pulled the man away.

Surveillance video captured the suspects pulling up to the vehicle Kingston was in just moments after his mother, Ebony Archie, entered the store.

Across town, at the district attorney's office, another heart-wrenching scene unfolded as the rest of Kingston's family, including his mother, learned he had died.

The Mississippi Bureau of Investigation (MBI) issued an Amber Alert for Frazier at about 4:30 a.m. local time (5:30 a.m. EDT) Thursday.

The mother, Ebony Archie, left the boy in the vehicle, its engine running, while she went inside the supermarket early on Thursday, sheriff's deputies have said.

District Attorney Michael Guest said Friday that authorities are seeking the weapon but are confident they have enough evidence against the three teen suspects to proceed without it.
