Trump administration notifies Congress of intent to renegotiate NAFTA

The notice sent Thursday instead mentioned repeatedly that any changes would be the result of congressional consultation and pledged close coordination and "transparency" with lawmakers throughout the renegotiation process.

"We intend to initiate negotiations with Canada and Mexico as soon as possible, but no earlier than 90 days from the date of this notice", he said.
