At the ongoing NewFronts conference organized in New York, YouTube took center stage to today announce the launch of their new original programming - in the form of seven star-studded shows.

Ellen's Show Me More Show will be a twice-weekly series in which DeGeneres speaks to stars.

Major stars such as Kevin Hart, Rhett and Link, Ellen DeGeneres, Katy Perry, The Slow Mo Guys, Demi Lovato and Ludacris have been signed up to star in new ad-supported shows premiering exclusively on YouTube, free to users. In 2016, when YouTube began making premium original content for its subscription service, YouTube Red, the programs were primarily behind a paywall.

On his new series, Hart said, "Lionsgate and YouTube are great partners, and this collaboration allows me to add a whole new audience to my fan base and share with viewers around the world".

Wojcicki also announced that YouTube would be launching more than 40 original series created by popular YouTube creators that can be sponsored by advertisers.

"We apologize for letting some of you down", said YouTube CEO Susan Wojcicki. These shows have been created to support its brand advertisers, who've equally been at a loss due to the recent YouTube advertisement snafu - where ads were placed over or next to questionable content.

Robert Kyncl, YouTube, chief business officer, also took to the stage to highlight how the video-sharing network aims to buck the trend towards the online entertainment industry shifting towards ad-free platforms such as Netflix and Amazon Prime Video.

"I realized that I didn't have to make a show for any timeslot, because we have the Internet, and more than that we had YouTube", Corden said.
