Florentino Perez on David De Gea moving to Real Madrid

Eventually, as United fans probably will have expected, talk turned to David De Gea, who famously came within a dodgy fax machine of joining Real on deadline day a couple of years ago.

In the intervening time De Gea signed a new deal at Old Trafford while Keylor Navas - who was supposed to move in the opposite direction - has excelled at the Bernabeu.

"'We haven't spoken to De Gea", Florentino Perez told Spanish radio station Onda Cero on Monday night.

A move for De Gea, for now it seems, is off the table though.

'Two years ago we had an issue and then the appropriate circumstances didn't arise.

It was not immediately clear whether the Federal Bureau of Investigation was the source of the information. Comey was sacked on May 9, according to people familiar with the matter, the Washington Post said.

"The players are very fond of Keylor and also the coach".

"I wanted De Gea because I did not know Keylor Navas".

The 70-year-old has confirmed that his club has been keeping a close eye on Monaco's Kylian Mbappe and AC Milan goalkeeper Gianluigi Donnarumma.

One of those is the Champions League holders, with Perez revealing that manager Zinedine Zidane is a long-time admirer, as well as their interest in acquiring his signature.

"I've seen very little of Mbappe but he has some very good ways and surely he'll become one of the greatest".

The FBI said that the shooter's weapons found at the scene - a 9mm handgun and 7.62mm caliber rifle - had been legally purchased. Scalise and three others were shot by 66-year-old James Hodgkinson during a GOP baseball practice on Wednesday.

Rumours surrounding Mbappe's future continue to swirl as Perez and Real officials also try to keep a lid on the reports surrounding Cristiano Ronaldo's place at the club.

Of the Italian goalkeeper, Perez said: 'We are watching him.' Mbappe's 26-goal breakout season at Monaco has also attracted interest.

"Last year we had a possibility that we didn't take, and now we have no agreement with Manchester United to sign him".

If Mbappe does join Los Blancos he will then become the 13th Frenchman to represent the record La Liga champions with worldwide teammate Raphaël Varane and Karim Benzema now part of Zinedine Zidane's first team squad.
