Gas prices lower than usual for start of summer

- While gas prices are almost at an all-time low for the year heading into the holiday weekend, Michiganders aren't getting the same luck.

"Thanks to falling crude oil prices, gas prices are falling in a majority of the country, alongside Colorado Springs", Patrick DeHaan, a Chicago-based senior petroleum analyst for GasBuddy, said via email.

Travelers bound for San Antonio can fill up at the rate of $1.97 a gallon, while Austin and Dallas are averaging about $2.04 a gallon, according to GasBuddy.com.
