Manchester United make Victor Lindelof the most expensive defender in their history

Since joining from Västerås SK in the summer of 2012 he's made 73 first team appearances for Benfica with his performances subsequently earning his 12 global caps.

It is expected Lindelof and Eric Bailly will be United's primary centre-back pairing in 2017/18.

He could be one of three or four high-profile acquisitions at Old Trafford this summer, with the club also understood to be keen on Alvaro Morata.
