The Knicks And Phil Jackson Part Ways

Jackson is out as New York Knicks president after he oversaw one of the worst eras in team history, with the team saying in a statement Wednesday that they had "mutually agreed to part company".

When owner James Dolan agreed to pay Jackson $12 million a year in March 2014, it was, by far and away, the largest deal ever given to a team executive and remained so until this day.

However, Jackson's unquestioned knowledge of the game - he does have 11 championship rings as a player and a coach for a reason - did not translate well into the front office. However, his decision to serve as an executive for the first time, acting as Knicks president, has been widely seen as a disaster. The ESPN report says that some players and members of the coaching staff in NY had grown frustrated at Jackson's idea of playing a triangle offense in the middle of last season.

The pair has been dating for almost six years, and announced their engagement in early 2016. Rosie and her fiancé Jason, 49, announced their pregnancy news in February.

But more problems were brewing for Jackson. But Jackson, a reserve on the Knicks team that won the National Basketball Association title in 1973, was unable to turn the team around, as embarrassment after embarrassment piled up. "As someone who treasures winning, I am deeply disappointed that we weren't able to do that", Jackson said. He was asked about a message to Knicks fans and once again Jackson said, "We know what we're doing".

Short Of Votes, Republicans Delay US Health Care Vote In Senate
Senator Bill Cassidy of Louisiana also said he is waiting to hear from leaders about revisions before deciding how he'll vote. Earlier Tuesday, Capito said she is "concerned with the bill in its present form", but she did not say how she would vote.

One reason Carmelo Anthony wants to stay in NY with the Knicks is that he's been pitching a reality show about his work as a political activist. "I wish them and the Knicks organization all the best - today and always". Playing with the Knicks won't help his career any more than it could. Jackson openly said he felt that the team should part ways with Anthony, but Anthony opposed waiving his no-trade clause.

The main issue? The Knicks are still owned by James Dolan.

Jackson was hired in 2014 to take over the Knicks' basketball operations. Porzingis skipped exit interviews with Jackson and Knicks general manager Steve Mills in April because of frustration with the team's current state, which likely led to Jackson's demeanor with the star. But in the end, and this is the merciful end for the Jackson era at the Garden, whatever "era" means in this case, he simply forgot about how good teams are assembled.
