Abdelhak Nouri suffers 'permanent brain damage' after collapsing on the pitch

Ajax have announced that Abdelhak Nouri has severe and permanent brain damage following his collapse on the pitch while playing against Werder Bremen on Saturday.

"Ajax are deeply saddened by the news that Appie Nouri has been diagnosed with serious and permanent brain damage", Ajax tweeted on Thursday.

The club statement said the chances of recovery from the damage is nil.
