In an accompanying video, DRAGON QUEST creator Yuji Horii introduces an overview of the game and offers an update on the game's localization process.

Square Enix added that Dragon Quest XI will be out in the West at some point in 2018. Thankfully, never alone the hero has the aid of a charming cast of eclectic characters, as is the tradition with any Dragon Quest title.

Dragon Quest XI has also received a subtitle for its Western release and it is now called Echoes of an Elusive Age.

In a new video, the veteran developer announces that the game will be translated into five languages, including English.

With 30 years of history, you'd be hard-pressed to find an American fan who knows the ins and outs of Dragon Quest.

Echoes of an Elusive Age features character art by the beloved manga artist Akira Toriyama and music from longtime series composer Koichi Sugiyama. While it's just released in Japan, it'll take some time for the localization effort to be completed, meaning we won't be seeing it until sometime next year.

Dragon Quest 11 is being released for PlayStation 4 and Nintendo 3DS this weekend in Japan, but Square Enix has been quiet about the game's release elsewhere in the world until today.
