Parole board member wore his Chiefs tie on purpose to OJ hearing

About 10 years later, he wasn't so lucky when the state of Nevada convicted him in a robbery case for which he was given a harsh 33-year sentence.

The world watched live as O.J. Simpson convinced a Nevada parole board he should be released after spending nine years in prison for a Las Vegas hotel heist.

Former American football star O.J. Simpson has spent almost nine years in prison.

Although Simpson repeatedly denied he was seeking media attention during his parole hearing, Kaelin suspects we haven't seen the last of him.

Simpson's imprisonment happened more than a decade after his scandalous acquittal in the brutal 1994 knife killings of his ex-wife, Nicole Brown Simpson, and her friend Ron Goldman at her Bundy Drive condominium in west Los Angeles.

I realize in my nine years here, that I was a good guy on the street...

As with Koepka, the last time Spieth teed it up, he won - at the Travelers Championship the week after the U.S. When Harrington won the last time the Open was played here, the winning score was 3-over-par 283.

"I could easily stay in Nevada, but I don't think you guys want me here", Simpson said to laughter during the hearing. I know he does a lot for other people. "We've taken things from him but he's never willingly paid a penny", Fred said.

Simpson was in prison stemming from charges involving an incident when he and a cohort confronted memorabilia dealers at the Palace Station Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas in September 2007.

"Mr. Simpson had no prior or minimal criminal conviction history", Smith said.

Despite the insurrection, Hof said his job offer to Simpson stands.

"I have done my time, I have done it as well and respectfully as anyone can".

Simpson, 70, presented himself to the parole commissioners as a family man who has missed dozens of his children's birthdays while behind bars and a devout Christian who has led an essentially "conflict-free life".

Latest Senate ACA repeal bill would lead to 22 million more uninsured
Four Republicans came out against it by Monday, leaving McConnell without the necessary majority he needed to advance the bill. Cory Booker (D-N.J.) called the repeal bill "a morally bankrupt effort".

Commissioner Jackson also made it clear during the hearing that letters received from O.J. critics, who urged the panel to take into account his 1995 murder trial while making their release decision, would not be considered in the case.

Those considerations include his age, his clean disciplinary record and the fact he served nine years - a pretty long time from this type of crime.

Simpson will probably be transferred, in the final weeks of his incarceration, to one of two other Nevada prisons used to accommodate soon-to-be-released inmates.

"I say to most of my clients that will listen to me, [if] you're out on parole or probation you have to act like you're kind of walking around in your own prison cell".

Simpson hopes to move to Florida, where he has friends and family, when he is released, a plan that must first be approved by probation authorities there. Hence, he believed that the time has come for him to live a normal life finally.

An electrifying running back dubbed "The Juice", Simpson won the Heisman Trophy as the nation's best college football player in 1968 and went on to become one of the NFL's all-time greats.
