The former Kate Middleton and her husband, Prince William, attended a state dinner Wednesday evening that featured the entire British royal suite and led by Queen Elizabeth and Prince Philip.

The Duchess of Cambridge attended Queen Letitia of Spain a special banquet in honour of the State visit of the King and Queen of Spain, and chose to wear something with special meaning for the occasion.

Kate wore one of Diana's favourite tiaras.

Two Thais charged over Aussie tourist parasailing death
Mr Hussey's wife, Boosabong Tongsanga, said he had been watching people parasail for days before he chose to do it. The two staff were named as the parasailor Rungroj Rakscheep , 38, and Montien Chandeng, 45, the boat captain.

Among all the 170 attendees present in the grand ballroom, Duchess of Cambridge and Queen Letizia stood out and caught the attention of the shutterbugs.

The Duke of Edinburgh was in his element during the royal engagement - far more so than Prince Charles and his wife, the Duchess of Cornwall, who stumbled through greetings while navigating their way around Camilla and Letizia's large decorative hats. The tiara was a wedding gift to the late Princess Diana from the Queen, and was known to be one of her favourite pieces. However, Kate Middleton managed to stand out with some help from her deceased mother-in-law, Princess Diana.

The tiara was made by Royal jewellers Garrard in 1914 to a personal design by Queen Mary - and was a copy one owned by her grandmother.
