But there is some good news for Trump. A majority expects the USA stock market to be higher at the end of the year than its current reading, but they do not credit Trump with the market's recent gains.

Some media outlets went as far as to say Trump's low approval ratings were the worst in 70 years for any president after six months in office, and one publication said it was the worst ever for any White House incumbent at this stage.

According to a new ABC News/Washington Post poll, Trump's approval rating has declined significantly since spring, with almost 60 percent of respondents disapproving of the job he's doing.

The Post-ABC poll found some parallels between Americans who "strongly" approve or disapprove of Trump, groups that together account for almost three in four adults.

The new poll also shows that 48% of Americans say they "disapprove strongly" of the President's performance in office.

Half of respondents, 50 percent, said Trump's performance in office has been worse than his predecessors, while just 23 percent it was better.

The report also found Trump's approval rating had fallen by six points in the last three months. 57% of respondents also said that the more they hear about the president, the less they like him.

The poll was conducted between from July 10 to July 13 among a random sample of over 1,000 adults being surveyed over the phone, with a margin error of 3.5 points.

The president's job approval rating looks quite different in the counties that propelled him to victory previous year, according to a new NBC News/Wall Street Journal poll.
