The show opens with a video package showing what Tommaso Ciampa did to Johnny Gargano at TakeOver: Chicago and some of their history. Roode interfered in a match where if Roderick Strong had won, he'd get an eventual title shot. They lock up and Black woks a wrist lock. Black backed into the corner and fought free, but Fish responded with an exploder suplex driving Black into the turnbuckles for a two-count.
Black scored an early kick across the chest that blasted the wind from the newcomer, but Fish answered back with a leg sweep that turned the tide in his favor. Fish rolls out of a whip, ducks some punches and fires off kicks to the leg. Fish applies a sleeper over the ropes from outside and a legsweep from the floor on Black in the ring as we break. Fish briefly got the better of Black and backed him into the corner, but Black fired back with a rapid sequence of strikes ending with a wicked knee strike. After a break, Fish is in control and hits a senton atomico for two.
Black reversed a half-crab into a roll-up attempt, but Fish went right back after him with a sleeper hold.
The Authors hit a combo sidewalk slam/second-rope stomp for a near-fall. Fish gets a bit cocky and talks smack. Springboard moonsault and high knee from Black.

Video recap of SAnitY defeating Hideo Itami and Kassius Ohno last week. Who do you want to see him face in Brooklyn?
A vignette for the Street Prophets (Angelo Dawkins and Montez Ford) aired and advertised them as coming soon... I'm so ready for their debut. Below is video of Borne talking to Kayla Braxton after the match. He said this wasn't a setting fitting of interviewing him. They lock up and go some go arounds. Borne rolls through, leaps over her and delivers a kick to the back. Alexander Wolfe, Killian Dain, and Nikki Cross came out onto the stage. He fought back but was overwhelmed. Regal agreed, but added the caveat that the victor will be the next challenger for Bobby Roode's title. Regal mentioned both Killian Dain and Drew McIntyre. He and Ciampa were never great promos as a team, so I'm glad they didn't saddle him with too much in this one.
He said that no matter what, he wanted to be at NXT TakeOver: Brooklyn.
For the first time in 53 days, Johnny Gargano returned to NXT. When the music ended the crowd erupted into chants of "Johnny Wrestling". Johnny's not here to dwell on the past. Gargano is here to look at the future and he needs to get back to doing what he loves to do. He claims he has to be on the Brooklyn card, because it's the biggest show of the year. The music that is presumably his new entrance tune played and Gargano hit the turnbuckles as the crowd cheered...

Both guys make the tag, but Otis' hot tag doesn't get a big reaction. HM go for their finish, but Razar takes Knight out with a big boot. Knight cut off as he looks for the Compactor and AOP land Last Chapter.
The Authors of Pain retained the NXT Tag Team Championships over Heavy Machinery in about 9:00. Commentary has to explain it's supposed to symbolize the book of pain we always hear about.
