Brisbane City Council withdraws funding for Horn-Pacquiao rematch

Amid news of the confirmation of a rematch between Filipino boxing legend Manny Pacquiao and the last man to beat him, newly-crowned WBO welterweight champion Jeff Horn, reports have surfaced that the championship do-over will be held in the Philippines.

Pacquiao had an option to accept another bout with the former schoolteacher, although there were suggestions that he could finally call an end to his boxing career.

In terms of the fight schedule, the secretary also revealed that they are looking at December 9, which incidentally is one week before Pacquiao's birthday.
