With roads and railways remaining inaccessible in major seven districts of north Bengal for 5th straight day today due to grim flood situation, price of air ticket between Bagdogra airport to Kolkata with 70 minutes flying time would cost now Rs 25,000 for one way. The death toll in West Bengal is seven. Almost 70 lakh people have been hit by inundation in 13 districts. A total of 23 NDRF teams are rendering services to marooned people in different parts of Bihar.

Meanwhile, Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal, who flew to New Delhi on Wednesday, is scheduled to meet Prime Minister Narendra Modi and apprise him of preliminary damage in the current wave of floods that have affected 24 districts in the State. Three columns of Army were deployed in flood-hit Katihar district for the relief and rescue operation.

Chief Minister also held a discussion with the Border Security Force top officials regarding the rescue operations for the flood victims. The force has deployed 23 teams for various ops in the state.
