"The AMG GT R and GT Roadster will combine driving dynamics of AMG GT3 and everyday practicality of the AMG GT", said Roland Folger, MD and CEO of Mercedes-Benz during the launch.

These two new launches by Mercedes-Benz brings its AMG portfolio in India to 12 models.

This bright green torpedo you see here is the Mercedes-AMG GT R - a meaner, hungrier and more shredded version of the already not-so-slow Mercedes-AMG GT.

While both models are powered by 4.0-litre twin-turbo V8 engines, the GT R, which is based on GT 3, as per a Car Trade report, produces 585 bhp and 700 Nm of torque. The engine sends power to the rear wheels via a 7-speed dual clutch automatic gearbox.

US, South Korea start annual military drill amid North Korea tension
Some 40,000 South Korean and USA troops are to participate on land, sea and air in the exercises called Ulchi-Freedom Guardian.

The AMG GT-R, named as "Beast of Green Hell", recently even broke the world record for a production street legal road auto to clock the fastest lap of 2:09.853 at the Buddh International Circuit (BIC).

The GT Roadster gets the same 4.0-litre twin-turbo V8 engine, though in a 469hp/630Nm state of tune.

Active rear-wheel steering, the nine-way adjustable traction control system and the adjustable coil-over suspension with additional electronic control.

The AMG GT Roadster is quickly transformed from a coupé to an open-top sports vehicle.

US, South Korea begin military drill as North reacts
On the same day, Pyongyang also stepped back from its plan to strike Guam with four medium-range ballistic missiles. Air Force U-2 Dragon Lady takes part in a drill at Osan Air Base in Pyeongtaek, South Korea , August 21, 2017.

The sports vehicle also boast of rear-wheel steering that helps to attack corners with additional speed without compromising on stability. The Mercedes-Benz AMG GT-R is priced starting at Rs 2.23 crore (ex-showroom India) while the Roadster starts a little lower at Rs 2.19 crore.

This results in the AMG GT Roadster achieve 0-100 kmph in just 4 seconds and a top speed of 302 kmph.

Both the cars come with AMG's Speedshift DCT 7-speed dual-clutch transmission though the GT-R comes with a number of key add-ons. The market for sports cars in India is limited at this moment, and apart from cars from the stable of Mercedes, BMW and Audi, some of the iconic players selling in the segment are companies such as Lamborghini, Ferrari and Porsche. The GT Roadster on the contrary only gets a mechanical locking differential while also missing out on the rear-wheel steering of the flagship GT-R.

'The Punisher' Trailer: Frank Castle is Back
That first trailer was neat, albeit sparse, but there's no arguing that Bernthal is every bit as Punisher-y as needed. One of the greatest things about the Marvel Cinematic Universe is that it is branching and ever-expanding.
