McQuarrie - who directed Cruise in "Mission: Impossible 5" (2015) and "Jack Reacher" (2012) - posted a link to an article with British film magazine Empire in which he said his star was "in very good spirits".

Filming of Mission: Impossible 6 has been delayed by up to three months after its star Tom Cruise damaged his ankle in a botched stunt, USA media reported yesterday.

USA actor Tom Cruise arrives for the world premiere of "Mission Impossible - Rogue Nation" in front of the State Opera House in Vienna, July 23, 2015. He was later seen limping off the set. However, director Christopher McQuarrie has now revealed that the break will not mean a delay for the film's release.

Cruise injured himself while performing a stunt in London that involved the actor leaping between two buildings with the assistance of a harness.
