Princes William and Harry have spoken candidly about the death of their mother, Princess Diana, in an interview marking 20 years since she was killed in a vehicle crash, paying tribute to the actions of their father in breaking the tragic news.
"I just remember hiding behind my fringe basically, at a time when I had a lot of hair, and my head's down a lot - so I'm hiding behind my fringe".
Prince William also spoke about the Queen's decision to keep her grandsons at Balmoral following Diana's death - something for which she weathered heavy public criticism.
"One of the hardest things for a parent to have to do is to tell your children that your other parent has died", he said, before continuing to heap praise on his dad.

She suggested she and Mnuchin contributed more to the USA economy and paid more in taxes than her critic. Jenni Miller , a mother from OR , commented under the post: "Glad we could pay for your little getaway".

He said she did it to make sure the brothers "had the privacy to mourn and to collect our thoughts".

"And those people that caused the accident, instead of helping, were taking photographs of her dying on the back seat", said Harry.

Princess Diana died as a result of injuries sustained in a auto crash in a road tunnel in Paris on August 31 1997 in which Dodi Fayed and Henri Paul, the driver of the Mercedes also died.
"I wanted her to be proud of the person I was to become, I didn't want her to be anxious, or her legacy to be that William or Harry were completely and utterly devastated by it, and all the hard work and love and energy she put into us when we were younger would go to waste".
