At the event, as fellow partygoers helped themselves to unlimited cocktails Teigen, 31, opened up about her realization of being someone who "can't have just one drink".
"I got used to being in hair and makeup and having a glass of wine", Chrissy continued as she sipped on a can of Red Bull. And then a bunch at the awards show. "And that feeling, there's just nothing like that", Teigen said. "You feel terrible. It's not a good look for me, for (husband) John (Legend), for anybody".
Though people around the 31-year-old weren't necessarily anxious - "They just assumed that it was OK because I always felt OK the next morning" - Teigen said she "knew in [her] heart it wasn't right". While there was no inciting incident, like an intervention or particularly embarassing moment, that led to her decision to cut back on the booze, she says she saw the warning signs.
"I knew in my heart it wasn't right", she continued.
Chile Top Court Rules in Favor of Abortion in Certain Cases
The ruling ended what was a series of over two years of lawsuits and controversy, giving women's rights groups a sound victory. Legislators introduced over a dozen bills to partly legalize abortion as early as 1991, but all were shelved or rejected.
Fortunately, when Teigen abstained from alcohol during her retreat, she noticed that she'd didn't miss drinking much at all. "I would wake up feeling awesome", she recalled. My skin felt incredible. "I was just so happy". "I don't want to have to look at a photo for 20 minutes before I post it".
Chrissy Teigen is known for her honesty and openness with fans, having previously shared her fertility struggles and her battle with postpartum depression after welcoming daughter Luna with husband John Legend.
"Nobody really brought it up to me", Teigen told Cosmo. With this in mind, we're thankful that Chrissy is sharing her story.
She tweeted, "I get it; I could've broken an ankle". It makes you very short with people.

'I used to think it was kind of nutty to have to go totally sober, ' the model told Cosmopolitan on Sunday.
