Man arrested near White House had cache of weapons in vehicle


A man stopped by the police for public urination near the White House, has been arrested after police found a collection of deadly weapons stashed in his vehicle. He is facing several weapons charges.

In a statement Monday, the agency says officers were approached by an individual at 17th Street NW and Pennsylvania Avenue at about 7:15 a.m. Sunday.

A series of security breaches, including people jumping over the fence into the White House grounds, prompted to the Secret Service to close public access in April to a sidewalk along the south fence of the White House. Police reportedly uncovered the stockpile of weapons after encountering the suspect allegedly urinated outside a nearby art gallery and subsequently searching his vehicle.

According to an incident report provided to CNN, the man was seeking "advice on missing paychecks and how to get the chip out of my head".
