On Thursday, US Secretary of State Tillerson called on China, Pyongyang's only ally, and Russian Federation to apply more pressure on North Korea by "taking direct actions of their own".

Furthermore, the US Secretary of State Rex Tillerson also condemned the launch, which disobeyed the sanctions given by the UN.

In response to Friday's launch, South Korea's military immediately carried out a ballistic missile drill of its own, with the defence ministry saying it took place while the North's rocket was still airborne.

"These continued provocations only deepen North Korea's diplomatic and economic isolation, " United States secretary Rex Tillerson said in a statement.

Kim's other goal is to "make the United States rulers dare not talk about military option for the DPRK", the leader was quoted as saying by KCNA.

"I believe it will further North Korea's isolation-diplomatic and economic isolation-because more and more nations are realising there's simply no collaboration with the global community".

US President Donald Trump told Reuters that he is "more confident than ever that our options in addressing this threat are both effective and overwhelming".

In the latest attempt to deal with an issue that has repeatedly angered world powers, the U.N. Security Council condemned the "highly provocative" missile launch by North Korea.

Friday's test, which Seoul said was the 19th launch of a ballistic missile by North Korea this year, triggered sirens and warning messages in northern Japan but caused no apparent damage to aircraft or ships.

It travelled about 3700km in total, according to South Korea's military, far enough to reach the US Pacific territory of Guam, which the North has threatened before. Five days later it conducted its sixth and most powerful nuclear test, of what experts believe was a massive hydrogen bomb.

The latest test by the North Koreans showed the country had no intention to back down despite worldwide pressure via sanctions, Dr Malcolm Davis from the Australian Strategic Policy Institute said.

Trump said America and its allies will never be intimidated. But the North American Aerospace Defence Command (NORAD) had said the ballistic missile did not pose a threat to North America.

Discovery co-creator Alex Kurtzman explained it like this: "The music of Trek is a critical part of the experience of Trek ". The original score featured a woodwinds, whimsical sounding bridge - indicating more light hearted adventure.

The projectile flew an estimated 2,000 kilometers, including over Japanese prefectures, before falling down into the Pacific Ocean.

The goal of the meeting "is to discuss ways the Security Council can better enforce the resolutions it has adopted to prevent the spread of the world's most unsafe weapons", said a United States concept note on the meeting obtained by AFP on Saturday.

"If North Korea then steps back its testing, then you have the space to say 'ok, what are the conditions that we're going to talk about?'"

"The weight of the world in terms of military weight will be brought down on North Korea and China will not save them". The other flew 250 kilometers and hit its intended target accurately in a simulated pre-emptive strike, The Korean Herald reports citing a statement made by South Korea's Joint Chiefs of Staff.

China, one of five permanent veto-wielding members of the U.N. Security Council, agreed to the latest sanctions that cap fuel exports, ban textile sales and forbid countries from issuing new work permits to North Korean workers. Though they aren't their top choices for the region, Haley and McMaster said, they are available to the President.
