Audi's style evolves with all-new A7 Sportback

The new vehicle nearly completely does away with traditional buttons and rotary dials, with the central dashboard occupied by two large vertically-stacked touch-screens, which seamlessly blend into the surrounding facia.

The redesigned new 2019 Audi A7 Sportback received its world premiere yesterday, revealing another model that incarnates the automaker's new design philosophy.

The new A7 will become available at home in Germany next February, and will gain other four- and six-cylinder engines, including diesels, across the European market, with U.S. availability coming late next year or the start of 2019.

Billboards Seek Tips After Rock Thrown From Overpass Hits Vehicle, Kills Passenger
Before White and his friend came through the area on I-75, police said 20 rocks had already been thrown. Investigators believe the rocks may have been taken from another location and thrown off the overpass.

At 4969mm in length, 1908mm in width and 1422mm in height, the new Audi is 14mm shorter, 3mm wider and 2mm higher than the first-generation A7.

Audi's A7 has always been a looker, but now it's on another level. The two centre console-mounted screens (10.1-inch top and 8.6-inch below) control the sat-nav and infotainment functions, while ahead of the driver is the familiar 12.3-inch Virtual Cockpit, which is fully configurable. With MMI navigation plus, the natural speech dialogue system processes questions and commands in two ways - with information stored onboard and at the same time with detailed knowledge from the cloud. It can be customised to show everything from media to navigation to the classic speed/rpm dials.

In terms of gadgets, the highlight here is the self explanatory Audi AI remote parking pilot and remote garage pilot, which allow the auto to manoeuvre autonomously, even with the driver outside of the vehicle. They will autonomously manoeuvre the A7 Sportback into and out of a parking space or garage. The driver can get out of the auto before launching the function via the myAudi app on their smartphone.

Speaking to The Sun along with Simon, she added that her time away has been "perfect for me because it's reset the mind-frame". But that doesn't mean she's been taking it easy - she's been working out for an hour a day since Bear was three months old.

Following an extended psychedelic video presentation, Audi finally broke the lock on the new 2018 A7. To monitor the manoeuvre, the driver simply presses and holds the Audi AI button throughout. Active safety is a major element - managed by the new zFAS (pronounced zed-fass) central computer which has a major list of aids: five radars, five cameras, 12 ultrasonic sensors, and even a laser scanner.

The new A7 will be able to order from Q1 2018, with deliveries beginning later that year. All driver assistance systems feature improved control mechanisms. Now badged 55, it's backed by a mild hybrid system that aims to boost efficiency. Every engine available for the A7 comes with the system, which takes a belt alternator starter and a lithium-ion battery and takes care of the start-stop functionality as well as allow coasting with the engine deactivated to then be restarted seamlessly. According to the company, MHEV technology reduces fuel consumption by up to 0.7 litres per 100 kilometres.

The new five-door Audi A7 Sportback will initially launch with a 3.0 TFSI petrol engine developing 340PS and 500Nm of torque. Available as an extra is the new dynamic all-wheel steering, which aims to improve both low speed agility and high-speed stability.
