Does the media make up fake news about Trump?

A new poll finds that voters agree by a wide margin with President Donald Trump that major news organizations "fabricate news stories" about his administration.

On taxes overall, 37 percent say they think their family would be "about the same" if the tax proposal passes, while 31 percent say they'd be "worse off" and another 24 percent say they'd be "better off".

However, the poll's sample of 1,010 adults skewed in favor of Democrats, under representing registered GOP voters by about 7 percent.

More men said they believed Trump's claim, 50 percent, than women, 43 percent.

"Voters, particularly Trump supporters, have become disenchanted with the national media", Kyle Dropp, chief research officer and co-founder of Morning Consult, told Politico.

Forty-two percent of 18 to 29 year olds believed the media was fabricating stories, followed by 45 percent of 30 to 44 year olds, 39 percent of 45 to 54 year olds, 52 percent of 55 to 64 year olds and 53 percent of those 65 years and older.

"Dishonesty in the media is one of the things that surprised me the most", Trump said.

The poll of 1,991 registered voters was conducted from October 12 to 16.
