In Kedarnath, PM harks back to deluge

Hours after spending his Diwali with Army soldiers in Jammu and Kashmir's Gurez sector, Prime Minister Narendra Modi reached Kedarnath in Uttarakhand today morning to offer prayers at the famous shrine.

Hitting out at the PM, Congress spokesman R.P.N. Singh said,"We welcome Mr Modi visiting Baba Kedarnath but whenever elections come he's sometimes son of mother Ganga, or at times Baba calls him!"

"My request for rebuilding Kedarnath created a storm in Delhi and the Uttarakhand Chief Minister had to decline the help we had offered", Modi said. He added that People from different states had perished and he could not stop himself from rushing to the state after the disaster. Modi had visited the temple on May 3 this year when the doors of the shrine were opened to devotees. Accusing PM Modi of being "arrogant", the Congress alleged that by making such remarks, he has shown disrespect to the people of the state.
