So, in recognition of the president's request for "equal time", Colbert hosted a segment that leveled both criticism and praise at Trump.

We're giving Donald Trump the "equal time" on Late Night TV he wants.

Jon Stewart reunited with Stephen Colbert on The Late Show Monday and tried to provide a positive perspective on President Donald Trump - before inevitably descending into a hilarious rant.

It.did not go great.

Colbert turned to Stewart to pay a compliment about Trump, though the former Comedy Central star had a tough time thinking up what to say.

Stewart's response? "Given the choice between having hot lava poured into my pee hole and Donald Trump being the president", Stewart said, pausing, and shuddering before saying, "I choose the latter".

Finally it was Colbert's turn to be the Trump-positive side of the act.

Apparently, President Donald Trump is feeling really underappreciated these days.

"If you're not familiar, Harvey Weinstein was responsible for The English Patient, Good Will Hunting, Shakespeare in Love, and other movies your mom liked in the 90's", he informed his viewers in flyover country. Still, "Good?" pressed Colbert. And 'calm before the storm?' Is that what he was saying? "And what kind of sociopath would use that terminology while people are still cleaning up from literal storms?"
